Welcome to Forgotten Angels Sanctuary
Our shelter was established in September 2006 and officially opened in May of 2007. We are a 501c3 organization, making
any contribution tax deductible. This shelter is run strictly by volunteers, unlike some shelters that have paid staff. This
means that 100% of donations are being used to care for the animals
.
We are proud to have one of the finest and cleanest shelters in Connecticut. We provide the best possible care for all our
animals with the fine veterinary support of Four Paws Veterinary Services and Groton-Ledyard Veterinary Hospital.
These two veterinary services provide medical care for all our animals and attend to our animals as they would their own.
Prior to entering the main shelter area, all animals receive a complete physical and are combo tested for FIV and Feline
Leukemia. No cat or kitten is received into this facility that tests positive for either of these diseases.  All of our animals are
kept current on vaccinations.
This facility has a maximum capacity that will not be exceeded for any reason. This promotes good health conditions and
reduces the stress in our residents. Unfortunately, we can not save all the animals that need to be saved, but we do our
best with the ones that we can.
Currently, we are only caring for cats due to a shortage of volunteer and financial support. Canines require much more
care and maintenance also veterinary care and food far more expensive than felines.
We pride ourselves in the care of our animal and want them to go to the best possible homes making our adoption policies
very strict. This is to ensure our babies are well taken care of when they leave this facility. If you would like to adopt one of
our cats or kittens please fill out an                         or e-mail us at

This years Pawcatuck River Duck Race only raised half the
money that we raised last year so will greatly affect how
many people we can help this year. Our veterinary bills run
over $1000.00 dollars every month. We raised just a little
over $1000.00 dollars so this will not last long. We are
hoping to recruit new volunteers to help us raise more
funding.

What we do for our area.
We take in animals on a case by case basis when we have room in our facility and when funding allows.
Please understand we get no town, state or federal assistance and rely on local donations to run
our facility.
Forgotten Angels also assists area residents with veterinary expenses and spay/neuter when
funding allows. If you need assistance please e-mail us at
for.angels@yahoo.com
We will be at the North Stonington School this year for their "Earth Day" education program. Mark Wickerd the
president of Forgotten Angels Sanctuary will be speaking on the impact of roaming domestic pets on our
environment.
We have several people that have requested our help to help with feral cat problems, unfortunately we just
don't have the funds to assist anyone at this time. Very few people donate and these projects cost hundreds
to thousands of dollars. If a person has a colony of 10-20 cats this can cost anywhere from $1,200.00 to
$2000.00 or more depending on the care these animals need. Once we take a cat it gets all the care that is
needed before returning it back to the colony.
Seeking reliable independent
volunteers
We are looking for volunteers that can work
independently to form groups to do fund raising and
education to support our shelter. If you would like to
become head of a committee for fund raising or
education please contact us at (860)389-3931. We
support the Griswold , North Stonington, Voluntown,
Preston, Plainfield, Stonington, Mystic, Groton and
Norwich areas.
We also need reliable people to help clean the shelter
on Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday evenings.
Please consider being part of this organization.
Our new hospital room is nearly complete. We will post
some pictures as soon as it is finished.

We are now in the process of getting quotes to replace
the floor on our main floors. We received a grant for
$2500.00 from
Petco to help with repairs to the shelter.
This will be a huge help.

If there are any rich people that can help us, please feel
free to donate to our high quality shelter.
